Notice of Biometric Data Collection
Nome Public Schools will begin incorporating biometric scanning as an interface for PowerSchool attendance and meal services during the 4th Quarter of the 20-21 School Year. Please reference the attached “How it Works” document for an explanation of how a student’s finger is scanned and converted to a binary number, associated to their Student ID number in PowerSchool, and then used for future rapid identification in PowerSchool for attendance and meal services interfaces. Capture of biometric data is scheduled to begin the week of 22 March 2021.
Parents who do NOT want biometric data collected on their child(ren) may OPT OUT by completing the attached form (one for each child) and returning it to their child(ren)'s school registrar / front office.
Paper copies of the OPT OUT form are available in the front office of each school if needed.
IMPACT of OPT OUT on Students: Any student who is OPT OUT will need to use their six to eight digit Student ID number instead of their old three to four digit lunch number for attendance and meal services once the integration of biometric data is complete.

NPS Climate & Connectedness Parent Survey (2020/2021)
Greetings NPS Families! It's time once again to ask for parent completion of our School Climate and Connectedness Survey. We truly value your input to help us know where we are doing well and where we need to do work to improve. We ask that if you have children at more than one school, that you complete a survey for each school. We know your time is valuable, and we appreciate your willingness to give us feedback. The surveys close on March 26th. We will have computers available to complete this survey at our upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences on February 19th and 22nd as well.Anvil City Science Academy - ACSA Family Survey LinkNome Elementary School - NES Family Survey LinkNome-Beltz MiddleHigh School - NBMHS Family Survey Link
