Hi Nome-Beltz Nanooks Fans & Families!
I have called Alaska home since 2014. I obtained my MAT Degree at the University of Alaska Southeast and started my career student-teaching in the Sitka School District, moving to Nome last year.
Currently, I am teaching four Social Studies courses: World Studies, US History, Economics, & American Pop Culture. I also serve Nome-Beltz as the head Cross Country Coach, Junior Class Sponsor, and National Honor Society Adviser.
I believe that the purpose of education is to enrich our community. My students are future board members, committee chairs, voters, volunteers, public officials, and members of a diverse workforce. All of these roles rely on three skills: problem solving, creativity, and effective communication.
On this site you’ll find an embedded Planbook feature which allows you to check out my lesson plans for the week. My teaching has been very positively influenced by critical parent feedback. I love when parents reach out with questions, suggestions, or ideas for activities!
