Hello, my name is Katie Bourdon.  I am one of the few teachers here at Nome Public Schools who is born and raised in Nome.  My husband, Wilson, and I have four grown children and two amazing grandchildren.  We enjoy camping and subsisting in the summer.  I love playing ice hockey in the winter, as well as sewing and baking.  It is important to me to have a safe and comfortable classroom for all children to learn.  Classroom routines and rules are consistent to foster independent accountability by each student.  Nome Elementary School uses the Bookworms curriculum for reading and writing.  Eureka Math is our math curriculum.  Weekly newsletters will designate which lesson will be covered in reading and math.  Please see our classroom schedule for classroom activities and feel free to join us during the week!  I look forward to a great school year with your family and your second grader!
