Dear Parents and Guardians,
As part of our High School Health curriculum at Nome-Beltz School, students will be participating in lessons addressing reproductive health during Health class. These lessons are part of the FLASH (Family Life and Sexual Health) Curriculum, which is being used to support our Health education program.
In accordance with Nome-Beltz School District Board Policy, parents and guardians have the following rights regarding this portion of the curriculum:
Review the Curriculum:
Parents and guardians may review the reproductive health instructional materials before they are presented to students. The FLASH Curriculum materials are available for review in the Nome-Beltz School Main Office.
Opt-Out Option:
Parents or guardians may choose to have their student opt out of the reproductive health portion of Health class. Students who are opted out will be provided with an alternative career exploration/career packet to complete in another designated location during the instructional time.
Students who participate in the alternative assignment will not be penalized or academically disadvantaged for being opted out of the reproductive health lessons.
