Mr. Ryan Fox » Biography

Biography

What is up Nome community!  I’m Ryan Fox, and for the third year in a row I'll be your 6th, 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher at Nome Beltz.  I grew up in the tiny state of Connecticut and went to school in Albany, New York.   My college degree is in history, and my masters degree in secondary education from the New York State University of Albany.

Outside the classroom, I’m strongly passionate about endurance activities, particularly running, cycling, ba

ckpacking, and sometimes a combination of them all at once.

I am the head coach of the high school and middle school cross country teams.

I've ridden my bike across the United States three times, and across the Canadian wilderness once.

After I finished college, I spent four months living in the woods, walking  the entirety of the Appalachian trail from Maine to Georgia.

Throughout my travels, I have gained a great appreciation for the history and geography of our world.

I am a human powered traveler: I do not, nor have I ever owned a car, catch me riding my bike and running around town all times of the year.

Degrees and Certifications:

Bachelor of Arts, Adolescent to Young Adult Education: Integrated Social Studies
Second Major: History
